I have always loved the lifestyle but never really knew how to express myself. What makes me steampunk? I started with bracelets from Spencer's and I just grew from there. The biggest effect came from going to a convention. The vision of what I was vs. what I am was so evident. The excitement was overwhelming. I felt the raw leather and tried on the jackets. It was at that moment that I decided to be that guy!

I spent my whole youth taking tech apart and rebuilding it. I was so fascinated with the guts of working machines. Gauges and wire became my obsessions. As I grew I started wood work, metal work and painting. It was the best feeling ever to create “steampunk” things even before I knew that words.

One of the most rewarding aspects of becoming a steampunk enthusiast is discovering a community filled with makers, artists, writers, inventors, and dreamers. New punks quickly find that steampunk is more than clothing or aesthetics; it is a shared appreciation for creativity and hands-on craftsmanship.
